The Opportunity The analyst supports accurate and timely financial accounting, general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, month-end close and financial reporting, with the related control activities. The role requires sound accounting knowledge and independent judgement in reviewing transactions, investigating variances and resolving discrepancies, managing assigned accounts independently while escalating complex, unusual or high-risk matters to the Manager.

What You'll Own

  • General Ledger Ownership: Maintain accurate financial records, journal entries, account classifications, and supporting documentation while ensuring GL and Chart of Accounts integrity.
  • Period-End Close: Execute month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities, including accruals, provisions, prepayments, depreciation, and required reconciliations.
  • Account Reconciliations: Prepare and review balance sheet and control account reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve aged or unsupported items within defined timelines.
  • Financial Reporting & Analysis: Prepare reporting schedules and accounting inputs while analyzing account-level variances, trends, and material movements for management reporting.
  • Treasury, Payables & Fixed Assets: Manage bank reconciliations, supplier balances, accruals, prepayments, and fixed asset records, ensuring accurate accounting and timely resolution of discrepancies.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline; professional accounting qualification or part-qualification is an advantage.
  • Relevant Experience: 4–6 years of experience in Finance & Accounts, General Ledger, R2R, or financial accounting, with hands-on month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliations.
  • Accounting Expertise: Strong understanding of accounting principles, double-entry bookkeeping, accruals, provisions, prepayments, depreciation, intercompany accounting, and balance sheet controls.
  • ERP & Reporting Systems: Proven experience working with ERP and financial reporting systems, with exposure to audit processes and internal controls.
