Role overview

Locations: Houston (IB3) Business Units: CESBG Job Classification: Exempt

The Kitting Shift Leader is responsible for overseeing daily kitting operations to ensure materials and components are accurately picked, assembled, staged, and delivered to production according to manufacturing schedules. This role provides leadership to kitting personnel, maintains inventory accuracy, supports production goals, and drives continuous improvement initiatives while ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and ESD requirements.

What you’d do

  • Lead and supervise kitting associates and material handlers to ensure efficient shift operations and achievement of production goals.
  • Oversee the preparation, accuracy, and timely delivery of production kits to support manufacturing schedules.
  • Ensure materials and components are properly identified, picked, staged, and issued according to work orders, BOMs, and production requirements.
  • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with Planning, Purchasing, Warehouse, and Production teams to resolve shortages and prevent production delays.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts, audits, system transactions, and proper material control procedures.

Basic Qualifications

  • 3–5+ years of experience in manufacturing, warehouse operations, materials management, or a related environment.
  • 1–3+ years of experience in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Experience using SAP or similar ERP/inventory management systems.
  • Knowledge of inventory control practices, material handling processes, and production support operations.
  • Strong organizational, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Required and preferred

Required

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

Preferred

  • Experience working with electronic components, BOMs, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Experience in electronics manufacturing preferred; SMT manufacturing experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles, 5S, and process improvement methods.
  • Ability to analyze inventory, production, and performance data.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and inventory management software.
