What you’d do

The Talent Acquisition Sourcing Specialist is responsible for proactively identifying, engaging, and qualifying top-tier talent for current and future hiring needs. You will partner closely with recruiters, hiring managers, and the broader HR team to build pipelines, conduct outreach to passive candidates, and support the stages of recruitment through to handoff. This role is focused on the front end of recruiting: sourcing and candidate engagement.

Talent Sourcing & Development

Collaborate with hiring managers and recruiters to understand role requirements, job specifications, and ideal candidate profiles

Develop and execute sourcing strategies tailored to each role, including leveraging Boolean search, social media platforms (LinkedIn, Indeed, etc.), job boards, professional associations, referrals, and networking events

Identify, attract, and engage passive and active candidates through outbound outreach (email, phone, social media) and maintain engagement over time

Build and manage talent pipelines for high-demand roles and future hiring needs

Assist with special projects as needed (e.g., diversity sourcing initiatives, campus recruiting, passive talent community development, email campaigns)

Candidate Assessment & Data Management

Screen and assess initial candidates (resumes, pre-screen questions, brief screening calls) to evaluate qualifications and fit before moving the candidate forward

Maintain and create accurate records in Applicant Tracking System (ATS) or other CRM tools; track sourcing activity, candidate status, communication history, and pipeline metrics

Performance Optimization & Employer Branding

Report on sourcing metrics and KPIs (e.g., response rates, pipeline growth, conversion rates) and continuously optimize outreach strategies

Stay current on industry trends, labor market intelligence, and competitive hiring practices to inform sourcing strategies

Support employer branding and recruitment marketing efforts by representing the company, promoting job opportunities, participating in events, and crafting compelling messaging to candidates

Required and preferred

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Communications, or related field (or equivalent experience)
  • Prior experience (2+ years) in sourcing, recruiting, or talent acquisition roles
  • Hands-on experience with sourcing tools and techniques (Boolean search, social recruiting, cold calling etc.)
  • Familiarity with ATS/CRM systems and candidate management tools

Preferred

  • Experience in a specific domain (e.g. tech, healthcare, finance) or hiring for niche roles
  • Experience with diversity, equity & inclusion (DE&I) sourcing strategies
  • Certification in sourcing, recruiting, or related fields (e.g. AIRS, HRCI, SHRM)
  • Experience with employer branding, recruitment marketing, or content development
