Apply Description Supervision: This position receives direction and supervision from department coordinator/supervisor, department manager and director of operations. Schedule: M-F 8:00am-1:00pm Description: A Specimen Processor/Phlebotomist demonstrates the ability to perform phlebotomy, and a variety of technical and clerical functions based on the needs of the individual client. Position handles blood, urine and other body fluids. Specimens may be contaminated with infectious diseases including HIV and other blood borne pathogens. Essential Functions:
- Facilitate the collection, processing and shipping of urine specimens and collect urine, blood, and other specimens from patients
- Properly identify patients and follow procedures for collection of specimens.
- Enter outpatient orders into the Laboratory Information System.
- Register patients, recording demographic, insurance/financial, and clinical data into the Laboratory Information System.
- Process and prepare specimens, maintaining proper specimen identification and sample integrity for testing in various laboratory sections.

Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a phlebotomist required (Phlebotomy certification required upon hire or within 6 months of hire)
- Prior experience in a customer service or patient care environment.
- Must have previous experience in a laboratory (clinical) setting. Working Conditions:
- Comfortable handling biological specimens (including wearing PPE, personal protective equipment).
