Shift engineer owning monitoring and first-fix for the network estate - Juniper QFX EVPN-VXLAN fabric, MX/SRX edge, Cisco FTD HA pairs and ZPE OOB - plus the device-management duties: config hygiene, standard changes and vendor coordination.
What you’d do
- Monitor and first-fix fabric, edge and firewall alerts; run structured troubleshooting before escalation.
- Execute standard changes under change control: port turn-ups, ACL updates, code upgrades in maintenance windows.
- Own device configuration hygiene: backup verification, drift checks, golden-config compliance reporting.
- Coordinate vendor RMAs and direct smart-hands at the data center.
- Maintain accurate asset, inventory and topology records for the network estate.
Must-have
- 2–4 years NOC/network operations experience.
- Hands-on Junos and/or Cisco IOS/FTD operational experience.
- Working understanding of BGP and EVPN-VXLAN fabric concepts.
- Change-management discipline; SNMP/Prometheus-based monitoring familiarity.
Good-to-have
- JNCIA/JNCIS or CCNA/CCNP.
- Apstra or other intent-based networking exposure.
- Firewall operations exposure (FTD/SRX); DCIM familiarity
