<p><strong>Job Description: Manufacturing Assembly Technician</strong></p> <p><strong>Job Title:</strong> Manufacturing Assembly Technician (Electronics/Cable Assembly)</p> <p><strong>Department:</strong> Production/Manufacturing</p> <p><strong>Reports To:</strong> Production Supervisor</p> <p>E<strong>mployment Type: </strong>Temporary Contract</p> <p><strong>Job Summary</strong></p> <p>We are seeking detail-oriented Manufacturing Assembly Technicians for temporary work on our Production team. In this role, you will perform mechanical and electronic assembly, hand and machine soldering, and cable/harness fabrication to support the build of high-quality products. The ideal candidate has strong manual dexterity, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing work that meets strict quality standards.</p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Assemble components, subassemblies, and finished products according to work instructions, drawings, and bills of materials (BOMs)</li> <li>Perform through-hole and/or surface-mount (SMT) soldering using hand irons, rework stations, or soldering equipment in accordance with IPC-A-610 / J-STD-001 standards</li> <li>Cut, strip, crimp, and terminate wires and cables; build wire harnesses and cable assemblies per specifications and schematics</li> <li>Read and interpret assembly drawings, wiring diagrams, and schematics</li> <li>Inspect completed work for defects, cold joints, shorts, or dimensional errors, and rework as needed</li> <li>Use hand tools, crimping tools, wire strippers, multimeters, and other test equipment to verify quality and function</li> <li>Label, package, and stage completed assemblies for the next production step or shipping</li> <li>Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workstation in compliance with 5S and safety guidelines</li> <li>Accurately complete production paperwork, travelers, and quality documentation</li> <li>Identify and report process issues, defects, or nonconformances to supervisors</li> <li>Meet daily/weekly production and quality targets</li> <li>Follow ESD (electrostatic discharge) handling procedures when working with sensitive components</li> </ul> <p><strong>Required Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent</li> <li>Prior experience in electronics assembly, soldering, or cable/harness fabrication preferred</li> <li>Basic ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and work instructions</li> <li>Strong hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills for detailed, repetitive work</li> <li>Ability to use basic hand tools, crimpers, and measuring instruments (calipers, rulers)</li> <li>Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks</li> <li>Good vision (with correction if needed) for close, detailed inspection work</li> <li>Reliable attendance and ability to work as part of a team</li> </ul> <p><strong>Preferred Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001 certification (or willingness to obtain)</li> <li>Experience with SMT rework or micro-soldering</li> <li>Familiarity with ESD-safe handling procedures</li> <li>Previous experience in an electronics, aerospace, medical device, or automotive manufacturing environment</li> </ul> <p><strong>Physical Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ability to sit or stand at a workstation for up to 8 hours</li> <li>Ability to lift up to 25 lbs (11 kg) occasionally</li> <li>Manual dexterity for fine assembly and soldering tasks</li> <li>Ability to work with magnification tools/microscopes for extended periods</li> </ul> <p><strong>Work Environment</strong></p> <ul> <li>Manufacturing/production floor setting</li> <li>Exposure to soldering fumes (with proper ventilation/fume extraction provided)</li> <li>PPE provided as required (safety glasses, ESD wrist straps, etc.)</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Employment information </strong></p> <p>This is a contract role that is not eligible for Hellbender benefits.
