Konvu
Head of Engineering
Paris, Ile de France, France - Posted August 28, 2026
Job description
About Konvu At Konvu, we’re on a mission to make security invisible, redefining vulnerability management for the agentic world. As AI begins to generate, test, and deploy code autonomously, legacy security approaches break down. Konvu’s AI agents reason like security engineers: automatically triaging noise, verifying exploitability with evidence, and helping teams focus on what truly matters. Our agents plug directly into existing scanners and workflows, no rip-and-replace, no new dashboards. We deliver evidence-backed decisions where teams already work, cutting false positives and surfacing exploitable issues with confidence. Founded by early members of Sqreen (YC W18, acquired by Datadog), we know what it takes to turn deep technical insight into tools developers and security teams actually use. We’ve raised $5M in Seed funding and are backed by top European and US VCs, as well as leaders from companies like Datadog, GitHub, Docker, Cloudflare, Sumo Logic, and Vanta. We're looking for a Head of Engineering to build and lead our engineering team in Paris, and set the technical foundation for everything we ship next. ️ What you'll do You'll own how we build. That means the team, the technical direction, and the delivery pace that carries us through our next stage of growth. You'll still be close to the code, but your leverage is the team you grow and the standards you set. Lead the engineering team. Hire, coach, and grow a small team of engineers into a high-output group. Set the bar for quality, give people ownership, and create the conditions for them to do the best work of their careers.
Own delivery. Turn product strategy into a roadmap the team can ship against. Balance thoughtful design with fast iteration so we keep shipping value every week, not every quarter.
Set technical direction. Make the architecture decisions that matter, from how our AI agents run reliably inside complex enterprise environments to how we keep builds fast and systems observable as we scale.
Build the team AI-forward. Put AI at the center of how we build, not just what we build. Make our engineers faster and our practices sharper by treating AI as a core competency
Scale the team without slowing it down. You've seen what breaks when a small team grows fast. Get ahead of it: hiring, process, on-call, technical debt, and the org design that keeps velocity high as headcount climbs.
Stay close to customers. Work with our users over Slack and on calls. Turn what you learn into technical priorities and make sure the team never loses the thread between what we build and why it matters.
Shape the culture. As an early leader, your decisions define how we build for years. You'll set our engineering practices, our standards, and the kind of place this is to be an engineer.
Who you are Even if you don't meet every qualification, we encourage you to apply if you're driven to create real impact. You've led engineering teams and are still hands-on. You've managed and grown engineers, and you can still design a system and review a hard PR yourself. You lead by raising the team's output, not by stepping away from the work.
You've scaled a team through its fastest growth stage. You know what it takes to ship fast with a small team, and what breaks as it grows. You've felt the trade-offs between speed, quality, and scale, and you've made the right calls under pressure.
You're AI-forward. You're genuinely excited about how AI is changing engineering, you build with it daily, and you have a point of view on where it helps and where it doesn't.
Strong engineering fundamentals. You care about code quality, architecture, testing, and operational excellence as much as you care about shipping.
Product-minded. You think about the "why" behind what the team builds and are comfortable making trade-offs between scope, quality, and speed.
You build teams people want to be on. You hire well, give clear feedback, and create ownership rather than dependence.
Excellent communication in English (our working language).
Eagerness to work onsite from our Paris office.
Nice-to-have (not required): Experience building developer, infrastructure, or security tools
Exposure to agentic systems
You've been an early engineer or engineering leader at a startup that scaled
Our Hiring Process 30-minute video call with our CEO
1-hour technical and leadership deep dive with our CEO
Working session with the team: architecture and team-scaling scenarios
Onsite with the founding team
